Joshua Lamont Bostic (born May 12, 1987) is an American who used to play professional basketball. He is now a coach! Josh works as a player development coach for the Houston Rockets, a team in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Josh Bostic's College Basketball Journey

Josh Bostic played college basketball at the University of Findlay. He had an amazing college career. He was named the NABC NCAA Division II National Player of the Year. He also earned other top awards like Division II Bulletin Player of the Year.

Leading the Findlay Oilers to Victory

In 2009, Josh led his team, the Findlay Oilers, to win the NCAA Division II championship. This was a huge achievement! During the 2008–09 season, he averaged 18.6 points per game. He also grabbed 6.2 rebounds, made 2.9 assists, and got 2.4 steals in each game.

Josh Bostic's Professional Basketball Career

After college, Josh Bostic was not chosen in the 2009 NBA draft. This means no NBA team picked him right away. However, he still went on to have a long and successful professional career.

Starting in Japan and the D-League

In August 2009, Josh signed his first professional contract. He joined the Kyoto Hannaryz team in Japan for the 2009–10 season. The next year, in November 2010, he was picked by the New Mexico Thunderbirds. This team was part of the NBA D-League, which is now called the G-League. It's a league where players can develop their skills.

Playing in Belgium and France

Josh moved to Europe in August 2011. He signed a one-year deal with Liège Basket in Belgium. He played so well there that he was named to the 2012 Eurobasket.com All-Belgian League 1st Team. In June 2012, he signed a two-year deal with Belfius Mons-Hainaut, another Belgian team. He played there for one season.

In June 2013, Josh signed with Élan Chalon in France. He later left that team in November 2013. Soon after, he joined Spartak Saint Petersburg in Russia for the rest of that season.

Time in the NBA G-League and Return to Europe

In September 2014, Josh signed with the Detroit Pistons NBA team. However, he was later waived, meaning the team decided not to keep him. In November 2014, he joined the Grand Rapids Drive. This team was connected to the Pistons. He was waived by the Drive in January 2015. The very next day, he signed with Spirou Charleroi in Belgium.

In February 2016, Josh signed with BK VEF Rīga in Latvia. Then, in August 2016, he moved to Italy to play for Juvecaserta Basket for the 2016–17 season.

Success in Croatia and More Italian Teams

In October 2017, Josh signed with KK Zadar in Croatia. He had a fantastic half-season there. He was even named the ABA League MVP of December! In January 2018, he left Zadar and signed with Dinamo Basket Sassari in Italy.

Josh returned to Italy in August 2020. He signed a one-year deal with Reggio Emilia. In February 2021, he moved to New Basket Brindisi before the season ended.

His last professional playing stop was with Anwil Włocławek in the Polish Basketball League. He signed with them in June 2022.

Josh Bostic's Coaching Career

After a long and successful playing career, Josh Bostic started a new chapter. In October 2023, he joined the Houston Rockets. He now works as a player development coach for the team. This means he helps players improve their skills and grow as athletes.
