James R. "Josh" Devoe (born March 24, 1888 – died March 19, 1979) was an important baseball player. He was a catcher and a manager in the Negro leagues. These leagues were where African American players could play professional baseball during a time when they were not allowed in Major League Baseball.

Devoe played for several years before the first Negro National League was formed in 1920. He also played in the league's first few seasons.
