Josh Johnson is a funny American comedian and writer. He joined The Daily Show as a writer in 2017 and became a correspondent (someone who reports on things) in 2024. Before that, he also wrote and performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He even toured with famous comedian Trevor Noah for a few years. In 2018, he was named New York's Funniest Stand Up comedian at a big event called the New York Comedy Festival.

Early Life and Education
Josh grew up in Alexandria, Louisiana. He went to Centenary College and studied lighting design for theater, graduating in 2012. After college, he lived in Chicago before moving to New York City to pursue his comedy career.
Josh Johnson's Comedy Career
Josh first appeared on late-night TV on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He also worked there as a writer and performer. Since 2017, he has been a writer for The Daily Show. In 2024, he started appearing on the show as an on-air correspondent.
His first half-hour comedy special came out on Comedy Central in 2017. One of his funny stories, "Catfishing the KKK," has been watched over 13 million times on YouTube!
Stand-Up Comedy and Tours
In 2018, Josh was featured on the Netflix stand-up comedy series The Comedy Lineup. That same year, he won the title of New York's Funniest Stand Up at the New York Comedy Festival.
Starting in 2019, he toured with comedian Trevor Noah on the Loud & Clear tour.
Josh's first hour-long stand-up special was called # (Hashtag). It was released in June 2021 on Comedy Central. Many people loved it, and Vulture magazine even called it one of the best comedy specials of 2021. Later that year, he released a 33-track mixtape album called Elusive. This album mixed his comedy bits with music, and he worked on it with Mike Relm.
Voice Acting and YouTube
Josh Johnson also uses his voice for cartoons! He voices a character named Harry Buns on the Disney Channel series Kiff. This show started in March 2023, and it was his first big acting role in a TV series.
Since July 2023, Josh has been uploading videos to his personal YouTube channel every week. These videos show routines from his open mic nights, performances at the Comedy Cellar, and clips from his tours. People really like how often he uploads and how consistent and thoughtful his comedy is.
