Joshua Curran (born 10 June 1999) is an Australian professional rugby league player. He plays as a forward for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs team. This team is part of the National Rugby League (NRL).

Before joining the Bulldogs, Josh played for the Sydney Roosters and New Zealand Warriors.

Early Life and Junior Rugby

Josh Curran was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. His family background includes Indigenous Australian (from the Darug people) and Irish descent. He went to school at Patrician Brothers' College, Blacktown.

Josh started playing junior rugby league for the Merrylands Rams. He also played for the Hills District Bulls. Later, he joined the Parramatta teams for younger players.

Professional Playing Career

Starting with the Roosters (2017-2019)

Josh Curran joined the Sydney Roosters in 2017. He played many games for their under-20s team in 2017 and 2018. He also played for the Roosters' feeder club, Wyong Roos, in 2018.

In 2019, he played for North Sydney, another feeder club for the Roosters. On June 25, 2019, Josh signed with the New Zealand Warriors. He made his first NRL game debut for the Sydney Roosters in Round 20 of the 2019 NRL season. This game was against the Canberra Raiders.

Time with the New Zealand Warriors (2019-2023)

Josh joined the New Zealand Warriors in 2019. He quickly became an important player for the team.

In 2022, Josh faced an injury during a game against Melbourne. He hurt his MCL, which is a knee ligament. This injury kept him from playing for a while. However, he worked hard and returned to the field two months later. He played 18 games for the Warriors that year. The team finished 15th in the league.

In the 2023 NRL season, Josh played 23 games for the Warriors. The team had a great season, finishing 4th in the league. They made it to the finals. Josh played in all three of their finals games. The Warriors reached the preliminary final but were knocked out by Brisbane. After the season, Josh left the Warriors. He signed a two-year contract with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

Joining the Canterbury Bulldogs (2024-Present)

In Round 1 of the 2024 NRL season, Josh Curran played his first game for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. This game was against the Parramatta team. Josh played 24 games for Canterbury in the 2024 season. The Bulldogs finished 6th and made it to the finals. He played in their elimination final game against Manly. On October 2, 2024, the Canterbury club announced that Josh had re-signed with them. He will stay with the team until the end of the 2027 season.
