Joshua Pim (1748–1822) was an important merchant from Dublin, Ireland. He worked in the cotton trade during the late 1700s and early 1800s. He is especially remembered for helping to create the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, an organization that helps businesses in Dublin.

About Joshua Pim
Joshua Pim was born in 1748. His father was John Pim, who was also a merchant. Joshua followed in his father's footsteps and became a successful businessman.
Joshua and his brother Joseph ran a business together. It was called Joshua and Joseph Pim of Usher's Island. Their business address, 15 Usher's Island, was even mentioned in a famous story called "The Dead" by James Joyce. Usher's Island is a quay (a riverside street) in Dublin, located on the south side of the River Liffey.
In 1783, Joshua Pim played a key role in setting up the Dublin Chamber of Commerce. This group helped businesses in Dublin work together. Joshua helped write the first plans for the Chamber. He also worked as its treasurer, managing its money, and as an information officer.
Joshua Pim never married. He passed away in 1822. His brother Joseph had passed away earlier, in 1806. Joshua left his large fortune and business to his nephew, George Pim.

Richard Pim, Joshua's Brother
Richard was another of Joshua's brothers. He was also a merchant and storekeeper. Around 1800, he started a brewing business. Richard's business faced many challenges. He eventually ran into financial difficulties and faced problems within his Quaker community. His brewery later became part of Jameson.
George Pim, Joshua's Nephew
Since Joshua Pim did not marry, he left his large estate and business to his nephew, George Pim. George continued the family's business interests.
