José Carlos Mainer Baqué (born in 1944) is a famous Spanish expert on books and writing. He is a literary historian and critic, which means he studies the history of literature and shares his ideas about it.

Life and Career

In 1971, he wrote a groundbreaking book called Falange and literatura. This book explored the connection between Spanish writers and a political group from Spain's past.

When he retired in 2011, his friends and colleagues published a special book to honor him, called Para Mainer de sus amigos y compañeros de viaje (For Mainer from his friends and fellow travelers).
