Early Life and Music Journey
Jowee Omicil was born to Rose-Annette Innocent and Joseph C. Omicil. His father was a pastor. Jowee's mother passed away when he was only five years old. When Jowee was 15, his father surprised him by enrolling him in music school. His father wanted him to learn an instrument to play with the church choir. Jowee chose the alto saxophone. He couldn't pick the piano because too many other students had already chosen it.
After studying music for three years, Jowee received a special scholarship. This scholarship allowed him to attend the famous Berklee College of Music in Boston. There, he focused on Music Education. Later, he also studied at the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz. He was even one of the top 20 finalists featured on BET Jazz, a TV channel for jazz music.
