Juan José Muñante López (born on 12 June 1948 – died on 23 April 2019) was a famous Peruvian football player. He was known for playing as a right winger, which means he played on the side of the field and helped both attack and defend.
Muñante was born in Pisco, Peru. He was a very fast player, which earned him the nickname "La Cobra" (The Cobra). He played for several important clubs during his career, both in Peru and Mexico.

His Club Career
Juan José Muñante started his professional football journey in Peru. He played for Sport Boys from 1966 to 1968. After that, he joined Universitario, one of Peru's biggest clubs, where he played from 1969 to 1973. With Universitario, he helped his team win league titles, showing his skill and importance on the field.
Playing in Mexico
Muñante then moved to Mexico, where he became even more famous. He played for Atlético Español from 1973 to 1976. During his time there, he helped Atlético Español win the CONCACAF Champions' Cup in 1975. This was a big achievement, as it meant they were the best club team in North and Central America.
After Atlético Español, he joined UNAM Pumas and played for them from 1976 to 1980. With Pumas, he continued his success, winning more league titles. His speed and dribbling skills made him a fan favorite. Later, he played for Tampico Madero from 1980 to 1982. He returned to Universitario in 1983 for his final season before retiring.
Playing for Peru
