Julen Guimón (1931–2001) was a Spanish lawyer and politician from the Basque region. He played an important part in the politics of the Basque Country until he retired in 1990. He was one of the people who signed the Ajuria Enea Pact. This agreement helped bring peace to the Basque Country.

Julen Guimón's Early Life and Studies
Julen Guimón was born in Bilbao on 3 October 1931. He studied law at the University of Deusto and earned his highest degree there. He also continued his studies at Yale University in the United States.
Guimón's Political Career
After finishing his studies, Guimón worked as a lawyer. Later, he became a professor at the University of Deusto, teaching about law and government.
He started his political career when Spain was changing to a democracy. He became a leader of a political party called Basque Christian Democracy. This party did not do well in the 1977 general elections.
Next, he joined another party, the Democratic Center Union (UCD). He was a secretary for them in the Vizcaya area. In 1979, he was elected to the Spanish Parliament as a member of the UCD. He left the UCD in 1982.
Guimón then joined the People's Democratic Party. He became the president of this party in the Basque Country. He was also a general secretary for the party at a national level. He was re-elected to Parliament in the 1982 elections.
In 1986, he joined the People's Alliance. That same year, he was elected to Parliament again. In 1987, he was elected to the European Parliament, which is the parliament for the European Union.
The Ajuria Enea Pact
In 1988, Julen Guimón was one of the important people who signed the Ajuria Enea Pact. This agreement was made to help bring peace to the Basque Country. It was a big step towards ending violence in the region.
In 1989, he stepped down from his role as the People's Democratic Party's general secretary in the Basque Country. In 1990, he retired from politics. He then started working as a magistrate (a type of judge) in the Provincial Court of Álava.
Later Years and Passing
Julen Guimón continued to work as a magistrate in the courts of Vitoria and Bilbao. He passed away in Bilbao on 10 December 2001. His funeral was held at the El Salvador church in Bilbao.
