Julian Soshnick was born in Brooklyn, New York, on August 17, 1932. He was a bright student. He finished high school in Manhattan when he was just 16 years old. After high school, he went to Brandeis University. He then studied law at Boston University School of Law.
Serving His Country
In 1957, Julian Soshnick joined the U.S. Army. He served for four years as an officer. He was part of the Judge Advocate General's Corps. This group provides legal services for the Army. He was stationed in Germany during his service.
A Career in Law
After his military service, Soshnick became a lawyer. In the early 1960s, he worked for the state of Massachusetts. He was an assistant attorney general. This means he helped the state's top lawyer. He worked under Edward J. McCormack and then Edward Brooke. Later, he worked as a private trial lawyer. A trial lawyer represents people in court.
