Jumbo is a small place in Hardin County, Ohio. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or a village. Instead, it's part of the larger county.

History of Jumbo

Jumbo started in 1881 when a man named Walter Blansfield opened a store there. This store was one of the first buildings in the community.

A few years later, in 1883, Jumbo got its own post office. This was a big deal because it made it easier for people living there to send and receive mail. The post office stayed open for many years, until 1901.

The community was given a very interesting name! It was named after Jumbo, the famous circus elephant. This huge elephant was a very popular attraction in circuses during that time.
