Jumpin' Jellyfish is a fun and gentle ride that feels like a parachute jump. You can find this exciting attraction at two popular theme parks: Disney California Adventure in the United States and Tokyo DisneySea in Japan. It's a "Paratower" type of ride, which means it lifts you up and then gently bounces you down.

About Jumpin' Jellyfish

This attraction is designed to look like you're exploring an underwater world. The ride vehicles are shaped like colorful jellyfish. The tall towers you ride up are decorated to look like bubbles and kelp, which are long seaweeds. The whole experience makes you feel like you're floating through the ocean.

Where to Find Jumpin' Jellyfish

Jumpin' Jellyfish has two main locations around the world. Each offers a similar, exciting experience for park visitors.

Disney California Adventure

The first Jumpin' Jellyfish opened on February 8, 2001. It is located at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, California. This park is part of the famous Disneyland Resort. The ride is found in the Paradise Gardens Park area.

Tokyo DisneySea

A sister attraction opened later the same year, on September 4, 2001. This version of Jumpin' Jellyfish is at Tokyo DisneySea in Japan. It is part of the enchanting Mermaid Lagoon section of the park.

How the Ride Works

Jumpin' Jellyfish is a relaxing yet thrilling ride. Riders sit in one of the jellyfish-themed vehicles. The vehicle slowly lifts you up a tall tower, reaching about 40 feet (12 meters) high. Once at the top, it gently bounces up and down, giving you a smooth, floating feeling. The ride lasts about 1 minute and 30 seconds. To ride, you need to be at least 40 inches (102 cm) tall.

Ride Comparisons

Jumpin' Jellyfish is similar to other rides you might know. It shares features with some past and present attractions.

Maliboomer

This ride is similar to a former attraction called the Maliboomer. The Maliboomer was much taller, standing at 180 feet (55 meters). It required riders to be at least 52 inches (132 cm) tall. Jumpin' Jellyfish is a smaller, more child-friendly version of this type of ride.

Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop

Jumpin' Jellyfish also has a similar style to the Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop. That ride is found at Walt Disney Studios Park in France and Hong Kong Disneyland in Hong Kong. Both rides offer a gentle "parachute jump" experience.
