Jun Enomoto (榎本 潤, born May 13, 1977) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a forward, a position focused on scoring goals. Enomoto is known for his time playing for FC Tokyo.
Jun Enomoto's Football Journey
Jun Enomoto was born in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, on May 13, 1977. He began his football career playing for his school and university teams. From 1993 to 1995, he played for Omiya Higashi High School. Later, from 1996 to 1999, he played for Dokkyo University.
Joining FC Tokyo
In June 1999, while still a student at Dokkyo University, Enomoto joined FC Tokyo. At that time, FC Tokyo was playing in the J2 League. This is Japan's second-highest professional football league.
Enomoto often played as a substitute forward. This means he would come into the game from the bench to replace another player. He played in several matches during the 1999 season.
Promotion to J1 League
In 1999, FC Tokyo had a very successful season. They finished second in the J2 League. This achievement meant the club was promoted to the J1 League for the 2000 season. The J1 League is Japan's top professional football league.
Even though the team moved up to the top league, Jun Enomoto did not play in any matches during the 2000 season. He played only one match in 2001.
