Jun Mizukoshi (水越 潤, Mizukoshi Jun, born January 15, 1975) is a former Japanese football (soccer) player and manager. He played as a midfielder for several clubs in Japan and even spent a short time playing in the Netherlands.
Playing Career
Jun Mizukoshi was born in Uda, Nara on January 15, 1975. After finishing his studies at Tenri University, he started his football career in 1997. He joined a team called Takada FC, which played in the Japanese Prefectural Leagues. These are lower-level leagues in Japan.
In October 1997, Jun Mizukoshi moved to Albirex Niigata. This club was in the Japanese Regional Leagues, which are a step up from the Prefectural Leagues. He played many games for Albirex Niigata. The team did very well and was promoted to the Japan Football League in 1998. Then, in 1999, they were promoted again to the J2 League, which is a professional league in Japan.
In 2000, he joined Jatco TT, another team in the Japan Football League. He played 17 games and scored 3 goals for them.
The next year, in 2001, Jun Mizukoshi moved to the Netherlands to play for a club called EHC Hoensbroek. However, he returned to Japan in June 2001. He then joined Ventforet Kofu, a team in the J2 League. He quickly became a key player, often playing as a right midfielder.
Even though Ventforet Kofu finished last in 2001, they improved a lot over the years. By 2005, the team finished in 3rd place in the J2 League. This amazing performance meant they were promoted to the J1 League for the 2006 season. The J1 League is the top professional football league in Japan.
However, Jun Mizukoshi moved to New Wave Kitakyushu in 2006. This team was in the Regional Leagues. He played many matches for them. Later in 2006, he went on loan to another Regional Leagues club, TDK. He returned to New Wave Kitakyushu in 2007.
In 2008, he went back to his first club, Diablossa Takada FC, which was still in the Regional Leagues. In November 2008, he joined Nara Club. This club was in the Prefectural Leagues at the time. Nara Club was promoted to the Regional Leagues in 2009. Jun Mizukoshi played for Nara Club until the end of the 2010 season, when he decided to retire from playing football.
Coaching Career
After his playing career, Jun Mizukoshi became a football manager. In October 2013, he took over as the manager for Nara Club, the last team he played for. At that time, Nara Club was in the Regional Leagues. He managed the team until the end of the 2013 season.
