Jurica Vranješ (born January 31, 1980) is a former professional football player from Croatia. He was known for being a very flexible midfielder. This means he could play in different roles in the middle of the field, both helping to defend and helping to attack. People noticed his great skills at tackling the ball and making good passes to his teammates.

Club Career Highlights
Vranješ started his football journey in his hometown of Osijek, Croatia. He played for a team called NK Osijek from 1997 to 1999. Some websites mistakenly said he started at another club, but Vranješ himself cleared up this confusion. He explained that they mixed up his stats with another player named Mićo Vranješ.
Playing in Germany
After playing with Osijek in Croatia, Jurica moved to Germany. He joined Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 2000 and played there for three seasons. In 2003, he moved to VfB Stuttgart. Then, in 2005, he joined Werder Bremen, a well-known German club.
In August 2009, Werder Bremen announced that Vranješ could leave the club. On January 29, 2010, he left Werder Bremen and was loaned to Gençlerbirliği in Turkey for the rest of that season.
Later Career Teams
In September 2011, Vranješ joined Aris Saloniki in Greece. He played his first game for them against Olympiacos. However, his contract ended on January 10, 2012.
In May 2012, he returned to Croatia and joined Rijeka. He played six games for them before his contract was ended in November 2012. Throughout his career, Jurica Vranješ played a total of 250 club games and scored 15 goals.
International Career
Jurica Vranješ also played for his country, Croatia. He made his first appearance for the Croatian national team in June 1999, during a match against Egypt.
He played a total of 26 games for Croatia. He was part of the national team that went to the 2002 FIFA World Cup, where he played in two matches. He also played for the Croatian Under-18 team in 1998, when they won third place at the European Championship. His last game for Croatia was a friendly match against Slovakia in October 2007.
