Political Career
Serving in the Alaska House
Justin Parish was elected to the Alaska House of Representatives in 2017. He won against the person who held the seat before him, Republican Cathy Muñoz, in the 2016 election. This was his first time serving as a state lawmaker.
Representing Juneau
Parish represented Alaska's 34th district. This district covers parts of Juneau, Alaska, the capital city. It includes areas like the Mendenhall Valley, Auke Bay, a region known as Out the road, and the Airport areas.
Not Seeking Re-election
After his first term, Justin Parish decided not to run for re-election in 2018. He supported his chief of staff, Rob Edwardson, who was a Juneau Borough Assemblyman, to take his place. However, another Democrat, Andi Story, won the general election in 2018 and became the new representative for the district.
