K.V. Johansen (born in 1968) is a Canadian author. She writes exciting Fantasy and Science fiction stories, especially for children and young adults.
Her full name is Krista Victoria Johansen. She was born in Kingston, Ontario. She studied a lot in university, earning special degrees in Medieval Studies and English literature.
Today, she lives in Sackville, a town in New Brunswick, Canada.

K.V. Johansen has won many cool awards for her books. Here are some of them:
- 2000 — She received an Early Childhood Literacy Award from the Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick. This award celebrates her work helping young children learn to read.
- 2004 — She won the Frances E. Russell Award. This award is for people who do important research about children's literature.
- 2006 — Her novel Torrie and the Pirate-Queen won the Lilla Stirling Award. This award is given by the Canadian Authors Association.
- 2006 — Torrie and the Pirate-Queen was also chosen as a "starred selection" in a guide to Canada's best children's books. This means it was highly recommended!
- 2007 — Torrie and the Firebird made it onto the Ontario Library Association's "Best Bets Top Ten List" for 2006.
- 2007 — Her book Nightwalker was on Voya's "Best Science Fiction, Fantasy, & Horror" list for 2006.
- 2007 — The Cassandra Virus was a finalist for the "Book of the Year for Children Award." This award is from the Canadian Library Association.
- 2007 — Torrie and the Snake-Prince was a finalist for the 2008 Silver Birch Award.
- 2008 — Torrie and the Snake-Prince was listed as one of the "Year's Best" by Resource Links magazine.
- 2008 — Nightwalker was also on the Ontario Library Association's "Best Bets Top Ten List" for 2007.
- 2008 — Nightwalker was a finalist for the 2008 Snow Willow Awards.
- 2008 — Torrie and the Snake-Prince was chosen for the 2008/2009 Hackmatack Children's Choice Book Award short-list.
- 2008 — Nightwalker won the 2008 Ann Connor Brimer Award. This was a big win for the book!
- 2010 — Warden of Greyrock was selected for the 2009 Ontario Library Association "Best Bets Top Ten List."
- 2010 — K.V. Johansen received the Anna Frank Award for Children's Literature in Macedonia. This shows her books are loved around the world!
- 2011 — Torrie & the Snake-Prince was recognized by IBBY (the International Board on Books for Young People). It was chosen for their 2011 list of "Outstanding Books for Young People with Disabilities."
- 2012 — The Black Box received an honorable mention for the Ontario Library Association "Best Bets" for 2011.
