Kabuna is a small village located in Hiiumaa Parish, which is part of Hiiu County in northwestern Estonia. It is a quiet place, typical of the beautiful Estonian countryside.
Discovering Kabuna Village
Kabuna is a charming village in Estonia. It is found on Hiiumaa Island, which is the second-largest island in Estonia. This island is known for its peaceful nature and lovely coastal areas.
A Look at Kabuna's Past
The village of Kabuna has a long history. It was first written about in documents way back in 1798. At that time, its name was spelled a bit differently, as Kabbona. For many years, Kabuna was connected to a large estate called Emmaste Manor. A manor was like a big country house with a lot of land around it.
Changes Over Time
Like many places, Kabuna's official status changed over the years. From 1977 to 1997, Kabuna was not listed as a separate village. Instead, it was considered a part of the nearby village of Külama. But in 1997, Kabuna became its own village again. This means it got its own official recognition and boundaries once more.
