Kakuichi Mimura (born August 16, 1931 – died February 19, 2022) was a Japanese football player. He was known for playing on the Japan national team.
About Kakuichi Mimura
Kakuichi Mimura was born in Tokyo, Japan, on August 16, 1931. After finishing his studies at Chuo University, he helped start a football club. This club was called Toho Titanium, and he played for them starting in 1955.
Playing for Japan
Mimura played for the Japan national team. His first game was on January 2, 1955, against the team from Burma. During 1955, he played a total of four games for Japan.
In 1956, he was chosen to be part of the Japanese team for the 1956 Summer Olympics. These Olympic Games were held in Melbourne, Australia. Even though he was selected, he did not play in any matches during the Olympics.
Life After Playing
After he stopped playing football, Kakuichi Mimura became a manager. He managed the same club he played for, Toho Titanium. As a manager, he helped his team win the Japanese Regional Leagues four times.
He also led the club to be promoted to the Japan Soccer League twice. This happened in 1982 and again in 1985. Mimura decided to step down as manager at the end of the 1985 season.
Kakuichi Mimura passed away on February 19, 2022. He was 90 years old.
