The Story of Kambly Biscuits
How Kambly Started
The Kambly story began with Oscar Kambly II. In 1906, he met a girl from Trubschachen, a village in the Emmental valley. He moved there and learned how to be a baker.
In 1910, Oscar and his brother Paul started their own company. They turned the village bakery into a biscuit factory. This was the beginning of Kambly SA.
Famous Recipes
Oscar Kambly created many popular recipes. The famous Bretzeli biscuit was made in 1906. The Caramels à la Crème d'Emmental came out in 1924. These treats are still loved in Switzerland and other countries.
Later, in 1954, the Goldfish Crackers were invented. This was done by Oscar J. Kambly, who was part of the second generation of the family.
What Kambly Makes
Kambly's oldest and most famous product is the Bretzeli. This biscuit is based on Oscar Kambly's grandmother's recipe. He started selling it in 1906. It is still made today and sent to many countries.
Since 1959, Kambly has also made special biscuits for the Swiss Armed Forces. These "military biscuits" became available for everyone to buy in 2010.
