Kambly is a famous Swiss company that makes delicious biscuits. It is officially known as Kambly SA. The company is based in Trubschachen, Switzerland, a town in the beautiful Emmental region.
Kambly was started in 1910 by Oscar Robert Kambly. It is still owned by his family today. Kambly biscuits are enjoyed by people all over the world! The company is now led by the third and fourth generations of the Kambly family.
How Kambly Started
In 1906, a man named Oscar Kambly, II. met a girl from Trubschachen. He decided to move to her village. There, he learned how to be a baker and a confectioner. This means he learned to make bread, cakes, and sweets.
In 1910, Oscar Kambly and his brother Paul started their own company. They turned the village bakery into a biscuit factory. They began to make biscuits for sale to many people.
Oscar's first recipes are still very popular today. These include the famous Bretzeli (created in 1906) and Caramels à la Crème d'Emmental (from 1924). These treats are well-known in Switzerland, Germany, and France. Later, in 1954, the fun Goldfish Crackers were invented by Oscar J. Kambly, who was part of the second generation of the family.
Who Runs Kambly
In June 2020, Oscar A. Kambly III, who had been leading the company, stepped back from his role. He passed the job of CEO to his son-in-law, Nils Kambly. Nils Kambly took his wife's last name. Dania Kambly, Oscar A. Kambly III's daughter, is in charge of finding new ways for the business to grow.
