Early Life and Education
Kamila Wozniakowska was born in Warsaw, Poland, on July 18, 1956. She studied painting in France. Later, she moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
In Montreal, she continued her studies at Université du Québec. She earned a Bachelor's degree in visual arts in 1986. She then completed a Master's degree in visual arts in 1996. Her art is mainly inspired by the 1970s.
Art Career Highlights
In the late 1990s, Wozniakowska was asked to decorate the theatre at the new Maison Théâtre in Montreal. Her work there brought together traditional and modern art styles.
In 2007, Kamila Wozniakowska became a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. This is a special honor for Canadian artists.

In 2011, Concordia University asked Wozniakowska to create a special artwork. This piece is called Acer Concordia. It is a series of 26 metal panels. Each panel has a maple tree engraved on it. You can see these panels in the Guy-Concordia metro station. They represent how the university grew from a small beginning to a strong part of the city.
