Discover Kanaka Creek Park
This amazing park covers about 400 hectares. That's like 1,000 football fields! It has different areas for you to enjoy.
The Riverfront Area
Near the Fraser River and Highway 7 is the Riverfront area. It's a great spot for a picnic with friends or family. You can also launch a canoe or kayak here. The water in Kanaka Creek is slow-moving in this part. You can paddle all the way up to the 240th Street bridge.
Riverfront Trails and Views
The Riverfront Trail winds along the creek. It's perfect for a walk or bike ride. Along the trail, you'll find tall wooden viewing towers. These towers are three stories high! They give you awesome views of the creek and the surrounding nature.
Exploring Upstream
As you go further up the creek, the water changes. Above the 240th Street bridge, the creek gets shallower. It also has more snags (fallen trees). This part isn't good for boating.
Cliff Falls: A Cool Swimming Spot
Higher up the creek, you'll find a very popular swimming hole. It's called Cliff Falls. This spot has cool "slickrock" slides. You can slide right into the water! There are actually two waterfalls at Kanaka Creek. They are on each of the creek's upper forks.
Forest Adventures
Much of the park's upper area is covered in thick forest. It's a great place for hiking. You can even hike along the creek beds. The park has built many wooden walkways. These paths take you through the forest and along the creek. They make exploring easy and fun!
