Kaolack Region facts for kids
Kaolack is a special area, like a state or province, located in the western part of the country called Senegal. The main city and capital of this region is also named Kaolack. This region shares a border with another country, Gambia.
In 2013, a count showed that about 918,355 people lived in the Kaolack Region. The total size of the region is about 5,357 square kilometers (or 2,068 square miles).

The Kaolack Region is divided into three smaller parts called départements. Think of these as smaller districts within the region. Each département helps manage local services and communities.
