Karen Berg (born October 12, 1942 – died July 30, 2020) was an American author. She was also the founder of the Kabbalah Centre International. She wrote five books, including God Wears Lipstick and Simple Light.
About Karen Berg
Karen Mulnick was born on October 12, 1942. She grew up in a Jewish family. While working in New York, she met Philip Berg. They married in 1971.
The couple moved to Jerusalem. Karen had two daughters, Suri and Leah, from a previous marriage. She and Philip also had two sons, Yehuda and Michael.
Starting the Kabbalah Centre
Philip Berg started teaching Kabbalah, and Karen supported him. They opened The Research Centre of Kabbalah in Tel Aviv. After 12 years, they moved to Richmond Hill in Queens, New York. Their home became the first U.S. location for the Kabbalah Centre. Later, the Bergs moved to Beverly Hills.
Her Books
Karen Berg wrote several books. In 2005, she wrote God Wears Lipstick: Kabbalah for Women. This book talks about ancient Kabbalistic ideas. She also wrote Simple Light, Wisdom from a Woman's Heart in 2008.
Later, in 2016, she wrote Finding the Light Through the Darkness. This book shares inspiring lessons from the Bible and the Zohar.
Helping Others
Karen Berg cared about helping young people. She started The Kabbalah Centre Charitable Foundation. This foundation includes Spirituality for Kids. It is an online program that helps children and teenagers who are facing challenges.
In 2005, she also founded Kids Creating Peace. This group works with children in areas of the Middle East affected by conflict.
Leading the Centre
Philip Berg passed away in 2013. After his death, Karen Berg and her son Michael took over running the Kabbalah Centre. Karen Berg became the spiritual leader of the Centre.
Karen Berg died on July 30, 2020, when she was 77 years old. She was buried in Tzfat, Israel.
