His Work with Chopin
See: List of music students by teacher: K to M#Karol Mikuli. Karol Mikuli is best known for editing the musical works of the famous composer Frédéric Chopin. He worked hard to create very accurate versions of Chopin's piano music. These editions were first published in 1879.
Mikuli's main goal was to make sure his editions were very reliable. He used many trusted sources, including notes and corrections made by Chopin himself. His editions of Chopin's music first came out in America in 1895.
Mikuli also took detailed notes during Chopin's music lessons. He even talked to people who had seen Chopin perform. For many years, Mikuli was seen as the top expert on Chopin. His thoughts about Chopin's playing were often shared by people writing about Chopin's life.
