People from Kashmir and Jammu
The Kashmiri people (Kashmiri: کٲشُر, Koshur) are a group of people who live in the central valley of Kashmir. This area is located between Pakistan and India. They are also known as Koshur.
Kashmiri people speak the Kashmiri language. This language is part of the Indo-Aryan family of languages.
About 5.6 million people speak Kashmiri. Most of them, around 5.5 million, live in Jammu and Kashmir. About 100,000 live in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and the Federally Administered Northern Areas in Pakistan.
