Kate Klise grew up in Peoria, Illinois. She was the fourth of six children. Her father, Thomas Klise, produced educational films. Kate went to Marquette University for her education.

Career and Inspiration

Before becoming a full-time author, Kate Klise worked as a correspondent for People magazine for fifteen years. She has mentioned that the famous author E. B. White, who wrote Charlotte's Web, was an influence on her writing. Today, Kate Klise lives on a farm in the Missouri Ozarks. She enjoys writing and hiking.
