About Kathy Kolla
Kathy Kolla has made several interesting films. Some of her well-known movies include Plastic Daydream, which starred actress Shari Belafonte. She also directed a documentary called Who Is Billy Bones? and a comedy film named Another Day, Another Dime.
Awards and Recognition
In 2018, Kathy won the Best Director award at the LA Live Film Festival for her drama film, Plastic Daydream.
Her very first short film, Another Day, Another Dime, was a big hit. It won the Audience Choice award at the Flint Film Festival in Flint, Michigan in 2009. Later, in 2014, this short film was bought by the TV channel ShortsHD. It started showing across the United States in November 2014.
Kathy also directed a special message for TV, called a public service announcement. This message featured famous singer Johnny Mathis. It was made in 2011 for the Nat King Cole Generation Hope charity, which helps young people with music education.
She also made an environmental documentary called The Great Los Angeles River. This film earned second place at the Going Green Film Festival in 2013.

Documentary Films
Kathy Kolla's first full-length documentary film was Who Is Billy Bones?. It premiered at the Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles in 2015. This documentary tells the story of Steven “Billy Bones” Fortuna. He was the lead singer of an early Los Angeles punk rock band called The Skulls.
In 2016, the TV network KCETLink Media Group acquired Who Is Billy Bones?. It began airing across the country on LinkTV and in Southern California on KCET in June 2016.
