Katie Boyle (born May 29, 1926 – died March 20, 2018) was a famous Italian-born British actress, writer, and TV star. She was also known for helping animals. Many people knew her best as the host of the Eurovision Song Contest four times: in 1960, 1963, 1968, and 1974. All these shows were held in the UK. She even gave advice to readers in a magazine called TVTimes.

Early Life and Career Beginnings
Katie Boyle was born in a royal palace in Florence, Italy. Her father was an Italian marquis, and her mother was English. In 1946, she moved to the United Kingdom and started a career as a model. She even worked for famous magazines like Vogue. In the 1950s, she also appeared in several films, starting with Old Mother Riley, Headmistress in 1950.
Television and Radio Appearances
In the 1950s, Katie Boyle worked as an announcer for the BBC television channel. Later, she became a well-known TV personality. She often appeared on popular game shows like What's My Line? and Juke Box Jury.
Hosting the Eurovision Song Contest
Katie Boyle is most famous for hosting the Eurovision Song Contest four times. She hosted the show in 1960, 1963, 1968, and 1974. All these contests took place in the United Kingdom. She also hosted the UK's qualifying show, A Song for Europe, in 1961. In the 1960s, she was also seen in many TV ads for Camay soap.

Personal Life and Interests
In 1947, Katie Boyle married Richard Bentinck Boyle. They divorced in 1955, but she kept his last name, Boyle. Later that year, she married Greville Baylis, who owned racehorses. He passed away in 1976. In 1979, she married Sir Peter Saunders, a theatre producer, who died in 2003. Katie Boyle was also a committee member for the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home for over 25 years, showing her love for animals. She passed away at her home on March 20, 2018.
