Katie Green, born on August 28, 1987, is a model from England. She grew up in Chichester, West Sussex. Katie first got the chance to model after a photographer set up a special photo session for her. She became well-known for her strong stand against the idea that models need to be extremely thin.
Katie was first hired to represent a brand called Wonderbra in 2008. However, her modeling agency asked her to lose weight. Katie refused to do this, which led to her contract ending. She is seen as different from many models because she chose not to change her body size to fit what agencies usually expect. Katie even started a campaign against "size zero" models with a politician named Lembit Öpik. She has continued her modeling career and has been featured in many magazines and advertising campaigns.

Katie's Modeling Journey
Katie Green's journey into modeling began when a photographer in Surrey, England, arranged a test photo shoot for her. This helped her gain experience. She then worked regularly with a group of photographers before being introduced to a top photographer in London.
Becoming a Wonderbra Model
In the summer of 2008, Katie was working in a shop and thinking about joining the police. Then, she saw an advertisement in a magazine looking for a model for Wonderbra. Even though she thought she had no chance, she went to an open casting call in London. She had a few quick pictures taken in her underwear.
A week later, The Daily Express newspaper printed her picture and asked readers if they knew who she was. She had been chosen as the new face of Wonderbra! Katie contacted the newspaper and found out she had won against 4,000 other girls.
Challenges with Her Agency
Wonderbra introduced Katie to the Premier Model Management agency. After she signed with them, she was told she needed to lose weight. An agent said it was normal for models to be a UK size 8. They told her that if she couldn't get to that weight, they wouldn't be able to find her more work.
The agency arranged two photo shoots for Wonderbra. Katie appeared on billboards in London and on the packaging for Wonderbra's bras. But the agency kept pushing her to lose more weight. They wanted her to drop two stone (about 28 pounds) and go from a UK size 12 to a UK size 8-10. Katie tried to lose weight and even became ill. She felt that the agency was more interested in her weight loss than in getting her modeling jobs. Her family contacted the agency, who said they advised Katie that models for lingerie usually need to be a size 10. Katie decided to leave modeling because of this pressure.
New Opportunities
After leaving Premier Model Management, Katie signed with the Unleashed PR agency. She then became the new face for Ultimo's D-G bra range. She worked alongside other models like Melinda Messenger and the singer Mel B.
Campaigning Against "Size Zero" Models
In July 2009, Katie Green started a campaign called "Say No to Size Zero." She worked with Lembit Öpik, a politician from the Liberal Democrat party. Their goal was to stop the use of extremely thin models, often called "size zero," on fashion runways and in the fashion industry.
They started a petition to gather 20,000 signatures. They planned to give this petition to the prime minister and Parliament. They wanted new rules that would require models to have regular health checks before they could work.
Other Projects and Appearances
Katie has been involved in many other activities. On September 11, 2009, she helped raise £200,000 for different charities at a special event. She joined famous people like Jonathan Ross and Sir Alex Ferguson at this event.
Katie also had a small part in the movie Get Him to the Greek. ..... In 2008, Company magazine named her one of the top 12 most inspiring women.
She was also asked to be a judge for a modeling competition for different body sizes called "The Love It Lovelies." In 2009, Katie helped launch "National Measure Your Bust Week" at a department store in London.
