Katlego Danke, born on November 7, 1978, is a talented South African actress, radio DJ, and TV presenter. She is known for her many roles in popular South African TV shows. These include Backstage, Generations, Gomora, and Isidingo. Katlego is from the Tswana ethnic group in South Africa.

Early Life and Education

Katlego Danke was born in the North West province of South Africa. She spent her childhood in different towns. These towns include Mahikeng, Ga-Rankuwa, Mabopane, and Potchefstroom.

She studied at the University of Cape Town. In 2001, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Her studies focused on Theatre and Performance.

Acting Career

Before becoming famous on television, Katlego Danke performed in theatre plays. She was part of many stage productions. Some of these plays include Beyond the Veil and The House of Kalumba. She also performed in The Town that was Mad and King Lear.

Television Roles

Katlego started her television career in 2002. She played a role on the e.tv show Backstage. In 2006, she joined the popular soap opera Generations. She played the character Dineo Mashaba. Her performance earned her a Best Actress award. This award was from the South African Film and Television Awards.

She also appeared in TV commercials. These included ads for brands like Vanish, Clover, and Honda. In 2010, she completed a diploma in Management Studies. This was at Wits Business School. In 2015, she became a brand ambassador. She represented Philips Avent, a global baby products company.

Later Television Work

After leaving Generations in 2016, Katlego joined another South African soap opera. This show was called Isidingo. She played the character Kgothalo on the show. Isidingo finished its 21-year run on March 12, 2020.

Before Isidingo ended, it was announced that Katlego would star in a new show. This show is Gomora. It is a South African telenovela on Mzansi Magic. In 2023, she took a break from Gomora. This was because she was expecting a baby.
