She met Charles Burnett at UCLA. He was a student making films. Kaycee Moore starred in his first big film, Killer of Sheep (1978). A writer from the New York Times called this film "an American masterpiece." Kaycee Moore also acted in Bless Their Little Hearts (1983). Later, she starred in Daughters of the Dust (1991).
Her last film role was in Ninth Street (1999). This movie was filmed in her hometown of Kansas City.
