Kazuhiko Chiba (千葉 和彦, Chiba Kazuhiko, born 21 June 1985) is a Japanese footballer. He plays as a defender. Currently, he plays for the J1 League club Albirex Niigata.

Playing Career

Kazuhiko Chiba started his football journey in Japan. He played for youth clubs like Kushiro Tomihara FC. Later, he joined Kyohoku Junior High School and Nissei Gakuen Daini High School.

In 2004, Chiba moved to the Netherlands. He joined AGOVV, a Dutch football club. He played 21 games for them. After that, he briefly joined Dordrecht in 2005.

Return to Japan

Chiba came back to Japan in 2005. He joined Albirex Niigata, a team in the J1 League. He played for Albirex Niigata for seven seasons until 2011. During this time, he played 147 league games.

In 2012, he moved to Sanfrecce Hiroshima. This was a very successful period for him. He helped the team win the J1 League three times. They won in 2012, 2013, and 2015. He played over 200 league games for Sanfrecce Hiroshima.

Later Career

After his time at Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Chiba joined Nagoya Grampus in 2019. He played there for two seasons.

In December 2020, Kazuhiko Chiba returned to Albirex Niigata. He has continued to play for them since then. The club has extended his contract multiple times, showing his importance to the team. He signed new contracts for the 2022, 2023, and 2024 seasons.

National Team

Kazuhiko Chiba also played for the Japanese national team. He made one appearance for his country in 2013.
