Starting with Verdy Kawasaki
In 1999, Kazuya joined Verdy Kawasaki, a club in Japan's top football league, the J1 League. He played his first game on August 7 as a defensive midfielder. A defensive midfielder helps defend the goal and also starts attacks. However, he only played one match that year.
Moving to Vegalta Sendai

However, Kazuya did not play many games in 2002 and left the club at the end of that season.
Playing in Regional Leagues
After leaving Vegalta Sendai, Kazuya played for two clubs in the Japanese Regional Leagues. These are leagues below the J-League. He played for Okinawa Kariyushi FC in 2003 and Shizuoka FC in 2004.
Success with Sagan Tosu
In 2005, Kazuya joined Sagan Tosu, another J2 League club. This was a very important time in his career. He became a regular player again and played many games as a center back for a long time. He played for Sagan Tosu until 2010.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2011, Kazuya moved to Yokohama FC, another J2 League team, but he didn't play much there. Later in 2011, he joined Matsumoto Yamaga FC, which was in the Japan Football League at the time.
