Kehinde Kamson is best known for starting Sweet Sensation Confectionery Limited. This is one of the most popular fast food brands in Nigeria. She began this business from a small shed in her backyard. She used old equipment and gave up a good job in accounting to follow her dream. Many people say she helped change the fast food industry in Nigeria. This led to a lot of growth in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Early Life and School

Kehinde Kamson's parents were both teachers. Her father, Adeleke Beniah Adelaja, was a principal at CMS Grammar School. This is the oldest secondary school in Nigeria. Her mother, Omoba Adebayo Evangelin Adelaja, owned Eva Adelaja Secondary School in Lagos.

Kehinde was born a twin on August 14, 1961. She and her twin were the youngest of six children. She went to International Women's Society Nursery School in Lagos. For primary school, she attended the University of Lagos Staff School.

As a child, Kehinde was very active and "tomboyish." She often played with her eight male cousins. They tried many sports, like pole vaulting, high jumping, and football. This love for sports continued in secondary school at St Anne's School, Ibadan, Nigeria. There, she enjoyed high jumping and table tennis.

She was chosen to represent her school and West Africa in table tennis. She even won a gold medal for West Africa. However, she did not make it to the All African Games.

Kehinde finished her A-Levels at Queens College in Lagos. She then earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She also studied at the Lagos Business School.

Starting a Business

Kehinde Kamson started Sweet Sensation, a Quick Service Restaurant, in 1994. She began in a small guard house in Ilupeju, Lagos. Before that, she had run a small food business from her family's garage for about 10 years.

Her business has grown a lot since then. Sweet Sensation is now one of the most successful restaurant chains in Nigeria. It has over 25 locations across the country. More than 2,000 people work there. They serve over 60 different meals every day.

Kehinde's journey as a business owner began by watching her mother. Her mother was very successful at many businesses. She sold all sorts of things and traveled the world to find the best products to sell in Nigeria. Being close to her mother's businesses inspired Kehinde.

After graduating from the University of Lagos, Kehinde worked as an accountant. She was also raising her young family. She realized it was hard to manage her family and a 9-to-5 job at the same time. So, she decided to quit her accounting job. That is when she chose to start her food business, which became Sweet Sensation.

Kehinde Kamson's idea for Sweet Sensation was to mix local and international foods. She also constantly created new recipes. A Sweet Sensation restaurant offers many different meals. These include local favorites like Fried rice and Jollof rice. They also have unique dishes like Sukiyaki and Genève Peppersoup.
