Keisuke Iwashita (岩下 敬輔, Iwashita Keisuke, born 24 September 1986 in Kagoshima Prefecture) is a Japanese football defender. He plays for the J1 League team Sagan Tosu. He is known for his strong defensive skills on the field.

Keisuke Iwashita's Football Journey

Keisuke Iwashita started his professional football career in 2005. He joined the team Shimizu S-Pulse right after finishing high school. He played for Shimizu S-Pulse for many years.

Early Career with Shimizu S-Pulse

In 2007, Keisuke scored his very first goal for Shimizu S-Pulse. This important goal happened during an away game against Albirex Niigata, which his team won 2-0. He continued to be a key player for the team.

Playing for the National Team

In 2009, Keisuke Iwashita was called up to play for the senior Japanese national team. This was a big honor for him. The coach at the time was Takeshi Okada. Even though he was called up, he did not play in an official game for Japan.

Moving to Gamba Osaka

After playing for Shimizu S-Pulse, Keisuke moved to Gamba Osaka in 2012. He had a very successful time there. With Gamba Osaka, he helped the team win several major championships. These included the J1 League in 2014 and the Emperor's Cup in both 2014 and 2015. He also won the J. League Cup in 2014.

Later Career and Loan Spells

Keisuke Iwashita later played for Avispa Fukuoka starting in 2017. He then had a loan period with Sagan Tosu in 2019. A loan means a player temporarily moves to another team. In 2020, he officially joined Sagan Tosu.
