Keita Kanemoto was born in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, on July 13, 1977. After finishing high school, he started his professional football journey.
Starting with Sanfrecce Hiroshima
In 1996, Keita joined his hometown club, Sanfrecce Hiroshima. He played as a defensive midfielder. This means his main job was to protect his team's goal. He didn't play in many matches during his time there.
Moving to Oita Trinita
In 1999, Keita moved to Oita Trinita. This club had just been promoted to the J2 League. He became a regular player for Oita Trinita. He played in many games as a defensive midfielder.
Promotion to J1 League
Oita Trinita had a very successful season in 2002. They won the J2 League championship! This win meant the club was promoted to the top league, the J1 League, for the 2003 season.
Retirement from Football
