Keith, Ohio facts for kids
Keith (also known as Keiths or Keiths Mills) is a small, unnamed community in Noble County, Ohio. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or a village. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
History
The community of Keith began around 1835. A man named Peter Keith and his business partner opened a store there. Peter Keith also built a sawmill (a place to cut wood into lumber) and a gristmill (a mill for grinding grain into flour). The town was named after him. Keith even had its own post office starting in 1837, which helped people send and receive mail until it closed in 1904.
