Keith Napoleon Goulet was born on April 3, 1946. He is a former Canadian politician. A politician is someone who works in government to make decisions for the public. Mr. Goulet represented the area of Cumberland in Saskatchewan's government, called the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from 1986 to 2003.
Keith Goulet is a member of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation. He made history as the first Indigenous person to be part of the Executive Council of Saskatchewan. This council is like a special group of advisors to the government leader.

Early Life and Education
Keith Goulet was born in Cumberland House, Saskatchewan in 1946. His parents were Arthur Goulet and Veronique Carriere. He went to school in Cumberland House and Prince Albert.
He also studied at a teacher's college in Ontario. Later, he attended the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina.
Career Before Politics
Before becoming a politician, Mr. Goulet had several important jobs. He taught elementary school children. He also lectured, which means he taught, at the University of Saskatchewan.
He was the principal of La Ronge Community College. A principal is the head of a school or college. He also served as the executive director of the Gabriel Dumont Institute of Métis Studies and Applied Research. This institute helps Métis people with education and research.
Family Life
In 1974, Keith Goulet married Linda May Hemingway. They have two daughters named Danis Goulet and Kona Goulet. Danis Goulet is known for being a filmmaker. Keith Goulet also has three grandchildren. As of 2025, he lives in Prince Albert.
Political Career and Achievements
Keith Goulet was the first Indigenous person to be part of the provincial cabinet in Saskatchewan. The cabinet is a group of top government ministers who help lead the province.
He held several important roles in the cabinet:
- Provincial Secretary: This role involves managing government records and official documents.
- Associate Minister of Education: He helped lead the education department.
- Minister of Northern Affairs: This role focused on issues and development in the northern parts of Saskatchewan.
Mr. Goulet retired from the cabinet in October 2001. He then retired from the Legislative Assembly in 2003.
