After leaving the Ailey company in 1983, Keith moved to Los Angeles. He wanted to work in television and movies. He appeared in several films. These included Beaches (1988) and Great Balls of Fire (1989). He was also in Death Becomes Her (1992) and Basic Instinct (1992).
