Kellie Lynn Crawford (born 1 May 1974), whose maiden name was Hoggart, is an Australian singer and actress. She is well-known for being one of the original members of the popular children's music group Hi-5. Kellie was part of Hi-5 for ten years, from 1998 to 2008. Before that, she was also in a pop group called Teen Queens.

Kellie Crawford's Journey

Kellie Lynn Hoggart was born in Sydney, Australia, on 1 May 1974. She started her career as a teenager, appearing in commercials for Pizza Hut.

Starting in Music

In 1991, when Kellie was 17, she and two friends, Liza Witt and Roxanne Clarke, had an idea. They wanted to bring back old music and make it popular again as a pop group. They first tried to create a TV show set in the 1960s. When the TV show didn't work out, they decided to focus only on making music.

They named their group The Teen Queens. From 1992 to 1993, The Teen Queens released three songs that became very popular, reaching the top ten on the ARIA Charts. After the group ended in 1993, Kellie continued to act in TV shows, movies, and commercials. She was almost cast in the Australian sitcom Hey Dad..!, but another actress got the role.

Becoming a Hi-5 Star

Kellie's big break came in 1998. She was chosen to join a new children's band and TV show called Hi-5. She was the oldest and most experienced member of the group. On the show, Kellie had a puppet friend named "Chatterbox," or "Chats." Chats' voice was first done by her fellow cast member Charli Robinson.

Kellie and Chats had a special part of the show called Word Play. In this segment, they helped children learn about language skills. They also taught kids to recognize different sounds and noises. In October 2008, Kellie announced she would leave Hi-5 after ten years. Nathan Foley, another original member, also left at the same time. Kellie was replaced by Lauren Brant.

Life After Hi-5

After leaving Hi-5, Kellie wanted to perform for older audiences. In 2018, she became a judge on the TV talent show All Together Now on the Seven Network.

Since 2019, Kellie has been living in Melbourne, Australia. She works as a voice-over artist, which means she uses her voice for commercials or cartoons. She also continues to act on television. In 2023, Kellie moved back to her hometown of Sydney. She continues her work as an actor and voice artist there.

Kellie's Life Outside Work

Kellie was born in Sydney. She went to school at the Meriden School in Strathfield, a suburb of Sydney.

Family and Education

Kellie is the younger of two daughters. Her older sister, Kyllé, was also an actress. Kyllé played the character Roberta 'Robbie' Henderson in the ABC TV show The Ferals. Kellie's parents are Dennis and Sonjie. Her father, Dennis, was a professional footballer. Kellie has mild dyslexia, which means she sometimes has difficulty with reading and spelling.

Personal Relationships

While working on Hi-5, Kellie became good friends with fellow cast member Nathan Foley. They started dating in 2002 and got engaged in 2005. However, in December 2006, they decided to end their engagement.

In 2007, Kellie became engaged to Addam Crawford. They got married in May 2008. Addam passed away in October 2018.
