Kelly DiPucchio, born on March 7, 1967, is an American author who writes books for children. She was born in Warren, Michigan. Kelly studied child psychology and development at Michigan State University, graduating in 1989. Today, she lives in Detroit, Michigan. Many of her books have become very popular and have appeared on The New York Times bestseller list.

Early Works and Popular Stories
Her first book, Bed Hogs, was published in 2004. It tells the story of a small piglet who struggles to find space to sleep at night.
Grace for President, released in 2008, is a very special book. Kelly wrote it after an editor's young daughter wondered why there had never been a woman president in the United States. The story follows Grace, a girl who runs in a pretend election at her school. Booklist magazine called it a "helpful introduction to the electoral system." This means it helps kids understand how elections work. It's also an inspiring story for girls. Some children even dress up as Grace for Halloween! This book became a New York Times bestseller in 2008.
In 2010, Kelly DiPucchio worked with Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan to write the book The Sandwich Swap. This book also became a New York Times bestseller.
