Kelsey Nixon is a well-known American cook and television star. She became famous after appearing on the Food Network show Food Network Star in 2008. Kelsey also hosted her own cooking shows, Kelsey's Essentials and Kelsey's Homemade, on the Cooking Channel.

Kelsey Nixon's Journey to Cooking
Kelsey Nixon started her journey in cooking and television early. She studied Broadcast Journalism at Brigham Young University. While still in college, she created her own cooking show called Kelsey’s Kitchen. She produced and hosted 100 episodes of this show over two years.
Becoming a Professional Chef
After finishing college, Kelsey decided to get more training in cooking. She earned a professional culinary arts degree from Le Cordon Bleu in Hollywood. She also received extra training at the French Culinary Institute. Kelsey even gained experience by interning at Martha Stewart Living and on the Food Network show Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee.
Kelsey Nixon on Television
Kelsey Nixon gained national attention on the Food Network series Food Network Star. She was a contestant on the show's fourth season. Fans really liked her, and she was voted "fan favorite" during her time on the show. She finished in fourth place overall.
Her Own Cooking Shows
Kelsey's popularity led to her own television series. Her show, Kelsey's Essentials, first aired on November 6, 2010. It was shown on the Cooking Channel, which is a sister network to Food Network. The show was very popular and ran for five seasons until 2013. In 2013, Kelsey was even nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Culinary Host.
Later, in 2015, Kelsey hosted another show on the Cooking Channel called Kelsey's Homemade. This show ran for six episodes, where she shared more of her cooking tips and recipes.

Kelsey Nixon is married to Robby Egan. They got married in 2008. Together, they have four children. Their first son, Oliver, was born in 2012. They welcomed a daughter, Nora Elizabeth, in 2016, and another daughter, Penelope Kathryn, in 2020.
