Kenneth Joseph Marino (born December 19, 1968) is an American actor, comedian, director, and writer. He is known for his funny roles in TV shows and movies.
Ken was a cast member on MTV's The State. He also starred in popular shows like Party Down, Marry Me, Burning Love, and Childrens Hospital. You might also know him as Victor from the comedy film Wet Hot American Summer and its spin-offs. He played the Lehman brothers on the Showtime series Black Monday.

Early Life and Comedy Beginnings
Ken Marino was born on Long Island, New York. His family is Italian-American. He went to West Islip High School and later studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute. He also attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University in New York City.
On his first day at NYU, Ken met David Wain and Craig Wedren. They quickly became good friends. Ken was very social and enjoyed connecting with new people. The next year, Ken and David Wain helped start a comedy group. They first called it The New Group, but later changed the name to The State.
Ken Marino's Acting Career
After college, Ken continued to work with The State comedy group. From 1992 to 1993, Ken and other members of The State appeared on the MTV sketch comedy show You Wrote It, You Watch It. This show was hosted by Jon Stewart.
In 1993, the whole comedy group got their own sketch comedy series on MTV. It was simply called The State. This show was very popular and ran until 1995.
TV Show Roles
After The State, Ken Marino appeared in many other TV shows. In 1997, he co-starred with Rob Schneider in Men Behaving Badly. He also had a recurring role as Professor Wilder on Dawson's Creek from 2001 to 2002.
Ken made several appearances on Charmed and Rock Me Baby. He was also in four seasons of Veronica Mars as the private detective Vinnie Van Lowe. He played a funny gay demon on the TV series Reaper.
He was Dr. Glenn Richie in the comedy series Childrens Hospital. He also played Captain 'CJ' Stentley on the show Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Ken also had guest roles in shows like Will & Grace, Angel, Reno 911!, Grey's Anatomy, and Monk.
Film Roles and Writing
Ken Marino has also been in many movies. In 2001, he appeared in Wet Hot American Summer. He also had a non-speaking role in the pre-ride film for the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios. In 2006, he starred in the Hallmark Channel movie Falling in Love with the Girl Next Door.
Ken wrote the screenplay for Diggers (2006). This film was about growing up in the mid-1970s on Long Island. He often works with his friend David Wain from The State. Together, they wrote and produced films like The Ten (2007), Role Models (2008), and Wanderlust (2012). Ken also had small acting parts in these movies. In 2013, he played Todd alongside Jennifer Aniston in the film We're The Millers.
Directing and Recent Work
Ken Marino starred as Mark Orlando in the Yahoo! web series Burning Love. This show was a funny take on reality dating shows like The Bachelor. His wife, Erica Oyama, created the series, and Ken directed all three seasons.
After that, Ken starred opposite Casey Wilson in the NBC sitcom Marry Me from 2014 to 2015. In 2016, he played the mobster Joseph Manfredi in the second season of Marvel's Agent Carter.
Ken has also directed episodes for several sitcoms. These include The Goldbergs, Super Fun Night, Childrens Hospital, and Trophy Wife.
In 2017, Ken starred as Mr. Johnson in the Netflix comedy-horror movie The Babysitter. He returned for the sequel, The Babysitter: Killer Queen. From 2019 to 2023, Ken played the music manager Streeter in the HBO comedy series The Other Two.
More recently, Ken Marino has become the lead singer for the Middle Aged Dad Jam Band. He started this band with his friend and fellow State alum, David Wain.
Personal Life
Ken Marino is married to screenwriter Erica Oyama. They have two children together.
