Ken McGuinness (born 14 September 1975) is an Australian former rugby league player. He played during the 1990s and early 2000s. Ken was known for playing in the centre position.

He played for several well-known clubs. These included the Western Suburbs Magpies, Wests Tigers, and North Queensland Cowboys. Ken also represented his home state, New South Wales, five times.

Ken McGuinness: A Rugby League Journey

Ken McGuinness started his professional rugby league career with the Western Suburbs Magpies. He played many games for them. He was a key player for the team during his time there.

Playing for New Teams

After the 1999 season, the Magpies team joined with the Balmain Tigers. They formed a new team called the Wests Tigers. Ken was one of nine players from the Magpies who joined this new club.

In their first year, Ken played a few games for the Wests Tigers. He also played in some special matches. In 2000, he played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in two games. These games were against teams from Lebanon and the United States.

Time in Queensland Rugby

In 2001, Ken played in the Queensland Cup competition. This is a big rugby league competition in Queensland, Australia. He played for the Toowoomba Clydesdales team. They even made it to the grand final that year.

Retirement from Rugby

In 2002, Ken joined the North Queensland Cowboys. He played nine games for them. At the age of 26, Ken decided to retire from playing first-grade rugby league. He shared that he had lost his strong passion for the game.

Representing New South Wales

While playing for the Western Suburbs, Ken was chosen to play for NSW Origin. This is a very important series of games between New South Wales and Queensland. He played in five of these matches in 1997 and 1998. During these games, he scored one try for his team.
