Ken Utsui (宇津井健, Utsui Ken) (born October 24, 1931 – died March 14, 2014) was a famous Japanese actor. He acted in plays, movies, and TV shows for many years. His career lasted from the 1950s all the way to the 2010s.

Ken Utsui's Acting Journey
Ken Utsui was born in Tokyo, Japan. He started his acting career in 1952 by joining a theater group called Haiyūza. Soon after, he got his first main role in a movie called Seishun no izumi. This movie was made by his theater group.
In 1954, Ken Utsui signed a contract with a movie studio named Shintoho. He became a big star there, acting in 60 different movies! One of his most famous roles during this time was in the exciting Super Giant series.
Later, in 1963, he moved to another movie studio, Daiei Film. He continued to be very busy, starring in 52 more films.
Television Roles and Later Career
From the mid-1960s, Ken Utsui also started working a lot in television. He became well-known for his roles in many TV dramas, especially detective shows. Some of his popular detective series included The Guardman and Sasurai keiji junjōhen.
He also appeared in several parts of the Akai series alongside the famous singer and actress Momoe Yamaguchi. Ken Utsui continued acting until 2014. He passed away on March 14, 2014, at the age of 82.
