Kenji Komata (古俣 健次, born July 15, 1964) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a midfielder during his career. Komata is known for his time with Júbilo Iwata and Albirex Niigata.

Kenji Komata's Football Journey

Kenji Komata was born in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, on July 15, 1964. After finishing his studies at Osaka University of Commerce, he began his professional football career. He joined a team called Yamaha Motors in 1987. This team later became known as Júbilo Iwata.

Playing as a Midfielder

From his very first season, Kenji Komata was a regular player for Yamaha Motors. He played as a defensive midfielder. This position is important because it helps protect the team's goal. It also helps start attacks from the back.

Winning the League Championship
