Kenya comes from a very musical family! Her dad was the famous R&B and jazz singer Donny Hathaway. Her mom, Eulaulah, was also a trained singer. Kenya's older sister, Lalah Hathaway, is also a well-known R&B and jazz singer.
Kenya studied music at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. It's a famous music school!
Her Career
Kenya has sung with many famous musicians. For example, she worked with Lee Ritenour on songs like "Papa Was A Rollin' Stone" and "Morning Glory."
You might have even heard her voice on American Idol: The Search for a Superstar. She was a backing singer on the show about 30 times!
