Kerry Clare and Lindsay Clare are a husband and wife team from Australia. They are famous architects who design buildings. They started their own company called Clare Design. Designing Great Buildings

Kerry and Lindsay Clare have been designing buildings for a long time. They worked in Queensland from 1979 to 1998. After that, they moved their practice to New South Wales in 1998. They are still working there today.

Awards for Their Work

They have won many awards for their designs. They received 40 state and national awards. These awards were for different types of buildings. They designed homes, public buildings, and commercial spaces. They also won awards for projects that reused old buildings.

Some of their big national awards include the Robin Boyd Award. They won this award in 1992 and again in 1995. They also won the national RAIA Commercial Award in 1995. In 1996, they received the national RAIA Environment Citation. This award recognized their focus on designs that are good for the planet.

From 1998 to 2000, the Clares were Design Directors for the New South Wales Government Architect. This meant they helped guide design for government projects. They also taught at the University of Sydney. They were founding Design Directors for a company called Architectus Sydney.

Today, they work from Sydney and the Gold Coast. They are also Honorary Senior Fellows at the University of the Sunshine Coast. As part of Architectus, they worked on several important buildings. These include the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane. They also designed the University of the Sunshine Coast Chancellery. This building won an environmental award in 2008.

Currently, Kerry and Lindsay are professors. They teach at the School of Architecture and Built Environment at the University of Newcastle. They are also visiting professors at Bond University.

A Green Star Library

One of their recent projects is the Library at The Dock in Melbourne. They worked with another firm called Hayball on this. This library is very special. It is the first public building in Australia to get a six-star Green Star rating. This means it is extremely environmentally friendly.
