Kevin Lawrence Alston (born May 5, 1988) is an American soccer player. He plays as a defender, helping to stop the other team from scoring.

Playing for Clubs
Kevin Alston played college soccer for the Indiana University Hoosiers. He was chosen as one of the best players in his conference in 2007 and 2008.
New England Revolution Years
In 2009, Kevin was picked by the New England Revolution in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft. This was a big step for him. He played his first professional game on March 21, 2009.
In 2010, Kevin was chosen for his first Major League Soccer All-Star Game. He even started the game against the famous team Manchester United. He scored his first professional goal in the SuperLiga 2010 final. Later, he scored his first league goal in 2014 against the Houston Dynamo.
Moving to Orlando City
After the 2015 MLS season, Kevin's contract with New England ended. He was then chosen by Orlando City in a special draft for players.
Playing for Orange County SC
On June 8, 2018, Kevin joined United Soccer League team Orange County SC. He continued his professional soccer career there.
Playing for His Country
Kevin Alston was part of the U.S. Soccer's Residency Program. This program helps young talented players train and develop. He played for the Under-17 National Team from 2003 to 2006.
He played in 76 matches during this time. He also played in the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Peru. In 2007, he represented the U.S. at the Pan American Games in Brazil.
Kevin was called to train with the senior U.S. national team in 2009. However, he got a hamstring injury and could not play. He was called up again later but had to pull out due to the same injury. He has not yet played for the senior national team.
About Kevin's Life
Kevin is the son of Jeanne Fox-Alston and Larry Alston. He grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. He studied management at Indiana University. Kevin enjoys hip-hop and R&B music. His favorite movies include Gladiator and Man on Fire.
In April 2013, Kevin took a break from soccer. He needed treatment for chronic myelogenous leukemia. This is a rare but treatable type of illness. By July 2013, Kevin had recovered and returned to playing soccer. This showed his amazing strength and determination.
